Rolebotics Africa

We aim to bridge the significant technological access gap between the few well-funded private schools and most African schools. We know that limited exposure to tools like robotics and advanced technology deprives many young people of the opportunity to develop interests, skills, and aspirations in tech-related fields. We also know that this disparity hinders their ability to contribute to innovative solutions within their communities or compete globally. This challenge motivates us to reach out and showcase the role of robotics in inspiring innovation. Founded by Gift Ogaba Odoh, a Nigerian PhD Student researching robotics at the University of Nottingham, UK, we aim to address the disparities in access to technology education. Throughout our founder's early academic journey back in Nigeria, there was a noticeable lack of exposure to practical robotics, a gap we are determined to fill for the next generation by introducing them to the exciting world of innovation using robotics as a tool. Recognising the critical need for technological advancement in developing nations like Nigeria, our foundation focuses on raising ambassadors with the fundamental knowledge and passion to contribute to societal growth. We serve young people in early schools, tertiary institutions and underserved communities, allowing them an equal opportunity to interact with cutting-edge robotic tools and platforms. Our outreach goes beyond just the technical side of robotics. Our foundation aims to inspire greater interest in innovation by taking a well-rounded approach. We consider the ethical, environmental, and social impacts of adopting technology for growth. By making robotics accessible, we aim to spark meaningful conversations about technology and its impact on everyday life as the world advances toward Industry 5.0, focusing on human-centred innovation, sustainability, and collaboration between humans and intelligent systems.

VISION

To make technology accessible in African communities, helping young people build innovative mindsets for equal technological opportunities and the continent's development.

MISSION

To inspire young people in African communities to explore technology early through robotics, equipping them with creative and critical-thinking skills to drive positive change and shape the future.

fostering a holistic approach to robotics innovation

We encourage individuals to explore the diverse aspects of innovation, from technical skills to its ethical, social, and economic impacts. By using robotics as a tool, we inspire curiosity and critical thinking while fostering a holistic approach to development. This ensures that everyone can engage meaningfully, whether through hands-on innovation or understanding its broader implications, driving progress across all areas of society.
